Magda "Maggie" Amalia Heras-Parada, 78, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on September 25, at Canyon Lake. She was born January 13, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas to Teodoro and Amalia (Delgado) Heras.

She graduated from Providence Catholic High School. She then worked retail before moving to Florida for several years followed by a move to Colorado. She eventually moved back to San Antonio to be closer to family and settled down in Canyon Lake where she made her home for 29 years. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved God and her family, had a "Green Thumb" and enjoyed gardening. She loved sitting on her back deck and enjoying the view.

She is preceded in death by; Mother Amalia (Delgado)Heras and Father Teodoro Heras, Brother Carlos Heras, Nephew Jeff Sepulveda, Nephew Michael Heras, and Grandson Christian Barkley.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years Richard Parada, 2 children; Clint Barkley and Tracie Barkley and 4 step children; Heather Garcia, Bj Raley, Kimesha White and Joshua Parada, 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 9 brothers and sisters and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The family will receive friends at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Hill Country Memorial Gardens in New Braunfels at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
