On January 10, 2024, Makai "Kai" Oliver Henry was welcomed home by His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the young age of 20 years.  Kai was born on March 29, 2003 in New Braunfels to his parents Christopher Clarkson and Amber Henry.  He was a devout Christian, studied the Bible intently, and in the months prior to his death had come to complete peace in God's plan for his life.  He will be remembered as rockstar manager of the Float In, on the Dean's List at Howard Payne University as a sophomore, and a competitive body boarder.   His passion was weightlifting and he had dreams of competing professionally one day.   Kai's sweet disposition and bashful grin melted the hearts of many, but especially his grandparents Jeffery Henry of New Braunfels, Patrick and Sigrun Clarkson of Boerne, Marc and Mary Ann Rhodes of New Braunfels, his brothers Maxwell Henry 22, Miles Henry 19, his sisters Madison Henry 25, Maeve Henry (Riedel) 12, and Maryn 10.  His love for his family was deeply felt and understood.  He listened, he played, he protected, he danced, he jumped, he nurtured, he fed, he befriended, he encouraged, and he served everyone he met.  He was an inspiration to so many.  Rest in Peace Kai and until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels at 10 o'clock in the morning followed by a private family burial.  In lieu of flowers or gifts we would greatly appreciate donations to help support his friends still in the fight at Dell Children's Oncology-Hematology Center.  Please send by Venmo to @Kai-Henry-2 for gifts to be made in his name.
