Maria Gertrud Kemper was born to Frank Joseph & Gertrud (Heublein) Boeser on October 10, 1937 in Bamberg, Germany.

She passed from this life on April 4, 2025 in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Horst Boeser and Gunther Boeser.

Maria is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Andrew Kemper; daughter, Janet Weitz & husband, Scott P. Weitz of New Braunfels; son, David J. Kemper & wife, Dr. Lynn Kemper of Walla Walla, WA and grandchildren, Brett A. Weitz & wife, Becca Weitz of Dallas, and Natalie R. Weitz of New Braunfels; and numerous other relatives and dear friends.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and cultivated many friend groups during her life in Germany and the United States. She enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best apfelkuchen. She was very skilled at knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and quilting gifting family and friends the beautiful sweaters, needlepoint pictures, and quilts she had created.

Maria and John traveled frequently in the United States and made many trips to Germany to visit with family and friends. They loved to dance and have gatherings with friends when they lived in New Jersey, New York, and then Florida. They moved to Texas to be close to their grandchildren in their later years of retirement.

Maria will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
