Martha Lemons Farrow of New Braunfels, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of Saturday, March 9, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. The outpouring of love and support from friends and family during the final months of her life when she was battling cancer brought her peace in her final days. She expressed fulfillment with the relationships she had fostered, work she had done, and example she had set in her 69 years. She was even joyful when describing loved ones she would be reuniting with in Heaven.

Martha was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1954, the second of four daughters to Gilbert Smith Lemons and Viola Josephine Lemons. After graduating from Highlands High School in 1972, she earned a nursing degree from the University of Texas at Austin. For over 40 years, she loved being a nurse at various hospitals in Texas and Louisiana, including long tenures at St. Luke's in San Antonio and Christus Santa Rosa (formerly McKenna Memorial) in New Braunfels. Along the way she developed a love of gardening and earned her Master Gardener qualification in retirement. She also loved to travel, volunteer and spend time with her grandkids and other family. Martha will forever be remembered for her kindness and commitment to serving others.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Farrow. She is survived by her son, Tyler (Jennifer) Stone of McAllen, Texas and 3 loving grandchildren, Grayson, Georgia Cate, and Eloise who will forever miss their Nana. She is also survived by her sisters, Jo Gayle (Harold) Kowalik of San Antonio, Ethel (Gary) Balbaugh of Weatherford, Texas, and Carolyn (Bennett) Larson of Temple, Texas, her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jim and Janet Farrow of Greenfield, Indiana, Mark Farrow of Morrison, Colorado, and Rolinda Stone of Bismark, North Dakota as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Martha's life will be held at Gruene United Methodist Church in New Braunfels, Texas on Thursday, March 21 at 2:30 in the afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright colors, reminiscent of the gardens Martha loved to cultivate.
