Marvin Thomas Aaron, Jr., age 88, passed away September 10, 2023. He was the oldest of five children of Marvin T. Aaron Sr. and Rosa Finch Aaron. He was born in San Antonio on December 27, 1934. Marvin graduated from South San High School in 1954.

He met the love of his life, Alice Mae Rode, while visiting Southwest Texas State Teachers College. He quit his job and enrolled in the college to pursue her. He accomplished his goal and they were married December 22, 1956 at First Methodist Church in New Braunfels. Marvin received his draft notice and joined the Air Force in 1957. He served in the Air Force until 1961, as a Chaplain's Assistant. While serving in the Air Force, his first daughter, Jennifer, was born, in 1958. Kathryn, his second daughter was born in New Braunfels in 1962.

Marvin worked primarily as an accountant and banker with positions at Dittlinger Roller Mills, Guaranty State Bank and Canyon Lake Bank, just to name a few. He was an active member of the First Methodist Church and Unity Church, the New Braunfels Jaycees and the Optimist Club. As a youth, he was a member of DeMolay International.

He is survived by his two daughters Jennifer Evans and husband Steve of New Braunfels and Kathryn Googins and husband Jim of Poteet. He leaves behind grandsons Jeremy Berg and wife Kate, Matthew Mumme, Michael Mumme and Eric Googins, Bryan Evans and wife Megan, granddaughers Sarah Trainum and husband Drew and Ashley Kent and husband Michael. He also leaves behind great grand son Wyatt Trainum, great granddaughters Lana Evans, Emma Trainum and Kara Evans.

He is also survived by his brothers Frank Aaron and wife Anita, Claude Aaron Sr. and wife Patsy, his sister Elaine Farris and husband Larry as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Marvin is predeceased by his parents, his sister Virginia Von Peckman, his nephew Franklin Loudermilk and niece Lisa Cox.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 7 at 1:00 at Doeppenschmidtt Funeral Home.
