Michael Anthony Yestrumsky, 75, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on November 8, 2025, in New Braunfels. He was born July 21, 1950, in Syracuse, New York to Anthony and Alice (Petrick) Yestrumsky.

In 1996 Mike and Carolyn Yestrumsky arrived in Texas from Miami to buy Michael's vision for a ranchette retreat. They went from the airport to the property and straight to the closing, having only seen the property on video and trusting their agent completely. The agent then became lifelong friends. Entrusted again the following year to help them buy a house in New Braunfels for Carolyn and family. This was Michael's true nature: build friendships in all you do. Nowhere was this more evident than in meeting with clients of his from New Zealand, Louisiana, Houston, Illinois, Panama and more. Not just meet them but break bread with them and be invited to stay overnight in their family home. He always gave of himself, from frequent flyer miles to the bottles of wine which he loved. (Boy did he love his wine!) His gift of connection, caring and giving was monumental.

If you ever talked to Michael very long you would know he was a cradle Catholic who had his knuckles busted a time or two and he was a strong Republic Conservative slightly right of Atilla the Hun. Fox news was the only news. His move to Texas to get away from Liberalism was evident. He truly loved Texas and New Braunfels, living here longer than many other places. In fact he loved it so much he had a ceremony with a Wild West, 6 gun toting Judge granting him Citizenship in Texas and forsaking all others, well except for supporting the Miami Hurricanes, Le Moyne and Syracuse. You have to forgive him a little.

Michael's love of food, (lamb in particular) ensured he always had a freezer full of normal and exotic choices from his travels. Plus, there was always venison from his hunting ranchette. He was an avid hunter and he would go every weekend during the season. It just made him part of Texas.

He loved his family, cherished his friends, and always made new ones even when he was hospitalized. Michael Yestrumsky will be missed by people from all over the world, here at home and in anyone who ever met him. God got the best greater to stand Next to Saint Peter that ever will be.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn, daughter, Jennifer and husband David, and his granddaughter Lauren.

The family will receive friends at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels on Friday, November 14 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels on Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 AM.
