Obituary

Mihoko Chambers, age 77, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family and those who loved her on September 10, 2022.

Mihoko's dream as a child living in rural Japan was to travel to the US and learn English. She moved to New York City in the mid 1960's where she attended a language school to become proficient in speaking, reading and writing English. In 1968, she visited Texas for the first time and fell in love with the big sky and wide open spaces.  Mihoko made lifelong friends in Texas from the moment she stepped off the plane from NYC and made Texas her forever home.

Mihoko will always be remembered as a selfless and caring mother, grandmother, mother in-law and friend.  She always found time to provide care and strength to others in their time of need.  She had a quiet strength, was fiercely independent and a cheerful optimist.  Her good nature, her laugh, and her smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Mihoko is survived by her daughter, Kim, son in-law Ron, grandson Nigel, granddaughters, Brett and Mya; son, Kurt, daughter in-law Rachel, grandchildren, Caleb, Raven, Ronee, Steven, Araina, and great granddaughter, Emma; daughter, Kelly, Rene, granddaughter, Gabriella, John, and great grandson, Asa.

A Memorial Graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels with Mr. James Cheeks officiating.

A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after the Service from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the American Legion at 410 W Coll St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
