Obituary

Mildred Louise Neugebauer Hoffmann, 79, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, October 18, 2026 in New Braunfels.

Mildred was born on August 18, 1947, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Willie and Linda Neugebauer. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1965 and married the love of her life, Stanley Otto Hoffmann Sr., on September 25, 1965. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, friendships, and adventures that took them around the world.

Mildred was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished Memaw, and a dear friend to many. Above all, she treasured her family and the memories they created together. Her love, kindness, and the special place she held in the hearts of those closest to her will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Mildred is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Colby Goodson, who brought her great joy and whom she loved dearly. She is survived by sisters Barbara Rosebrock, Helen Lehmann, Dorothy Burkholder, Elaine (Ruben) Falkenberg, and Frances Blevins as well as her great grandchild, Kort Goodson. One of her greatest joys in life was being a Memaw. She adored her grandchildren, Kandra (Josh) Henning, Kannon (Rylee) Goodson, Macie Goodson, and Preston Hoffmann and was incredibly proud of each of them. She loved them unconditionally, supported them in all they did, spoiled them whenever she could, and treasured every moment spent together. The memories they created with their beloved Memaw and the love she poured into their lives will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Her love, guidance, and the precious moments they shared will remain with them throughout their lives, a lasting reminder of the extraordinary bond they shared with their Memaw.

Mildred had a love for life and a spirit of adventure that took her far beyond home. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and traveling, always embracing opportunities to experience new places, meet new people, and make lasting memories. One of her favorite destinations was Africa, where she experienced the unforgettable adventure of sleeping in a tent beneath the African sky, being surrounded by incredible wildlife, and even riding elephants. These extraordinary experiences reflected her adventurous heart and her appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the world.

Through Stanley’s ownership and the founding of Hoffmann Floors, Mildred became part of a journey that introduced them to countless wonderful people and lifelong friends. Their involvement in the flooring industry took them to markets across the country and around the world, opening the door to new experiences, meaningful relationships, and treasured adventures. The people they met and the places they visited became an important part of their life together. These experiences created a lifetime of memories and friendships that they would carry with them for years to come.

Along with her love of travel, Mildred found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved being outdoors and spending time gardening. She enjoyed caring for her plants and watching them grow and flourish, finding beauty and fulfillment in the world around her. Her love for nature and the outdoors was another reflection of the things that brought her joy throughout her life.

Mildred’s life was filled with love, family, friendship, and countless unforgettable memories. She was the life of the party, with a special way of lighting up every room she entered. She cherished spending time with family and friends, whether shopping, discovering a new piece of jewelry, or enjoying a mixed drink and good company. Mildred also found joy in crocheting, creating beautiful, handmade treasures with love and care to pass down to her grandchildren. Through these simple pleasures and the love she shared with those around her, she made lasting memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Linda Neugebauer, husband, Stanley Hoffmann Sr., son, Stan Hoffmann Jr., and her sister, Charlene Soechting.

Mildred was involved in several organizations in New Braunfels, including the Comal Master Gardener Association, Guada Coma Garden Club, and Friends of New Braunfels Public Library. She also served as a Eucharistic minister at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
