Monelle Holley was born and raised up in depression era Hollis, Oklahoma, on July 28, 1935, to Love and John Boyett. She was raised in a small but loving home that was obtained in what was known in those days as a 'squatters rights' home, where her sister continues to reside to this day!

The depression taught Monelle the necessity of being thrifty, which was a testament to the way she ran her household and trained up her children.

Monelle graduated from Hollis High School with a music scholarship, which she intended to pursue. She worked that next summer in a movie theater when fate would have her meet her future husband, Ronald Holley. Rather than pursue college, Monelle married and chose to support her husband as he finished college and started his career.

Ron and Monelle had three children and eventually moved to Colorado. During a working Hiatus for Ron, the two decided to open a candy shop, named 'Monelle's.' Her children remember the store fondly for its nostalgic candies from that decade. Ron and Monelle eventually moved to Plano, Texas for other business opportunities in an up and coming cable industry. This was where they called home.

Monelle continued to pursue her many artistic abilities. She had a beautiful alto voice that would bring tears to your eyes if you had the pleasure of hearing her sing in church, or around the house. She painted artwork for years, some of which still decorates her children's walls. She was also a writer; mainly poetry and short stories, some of which were entered into publication. She also wrote an unpublished book that she worked on for years, before memory issues prevented her from seeing it published. She was very involved in investigating her family's genealogy and enjoyed sharing this information with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and kids.

Most notably, Monelle ran her home with great care, always offering to cook for someone or do their laundry, even after they had been long grown up. Her children were often greeted in the morning before school by taking requests for breakfast; anything from cinnamon toast to full course bacon, eggs, pancakes, and waffles. Something unheard of in this day and age. Monelle dutifully held the household together in every way for many years in support of her husband and her family.

She was the youngest of her 5 siblings: sisters; Jeanne (Joe) Berge), and Francis (Hubert) Roberts, and brothers; John Jr. (Mary) Boyett, and Joe Boyett, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind her sister Mildred (J.R.) Kellison and sister-in-law Gracie Boyett (Joe's wife), her son; Chris Holley (Carla) of New Braunfels, and her two daughters; Catherine (Ian) Lamont of Globe, Az, and Michelle (Alan) Murph of New Braunfels, Tx. Monelle has 6 grandkids: Rachel (Clayton) Michaud, Derek (Dee Dee) Murph, Moriah Childress, Benjamin Murph, Holley (Jon) Dunn, and Ian Lamont, III. She has one great granddaughter, Sarah Childress.

A peaceful Interment service will be held in her memory on November 26, 2025, at Christ our King, New Braunfels, Texas. Time to be announced at a later date.
