Olive Rose Tacy, nee Faw was born in Umatilla, FL on June 1, 1928 to George & Retha Faw. The family moved to Pikeville, NC after the death of her father who was a Presbyterian minister. Growing up in a house of faith, her relationship with and love for the Lord came very naturally to her. She graduated from high school and then attended Crumplers Business School. On June 7, 1947, she married Wayne Etheridge. Together they had three daughters, Monna, JoAnn and Pamela. The family remained in North Carolina until relocating to San Antonio in June 1960.

In December 1969 she married Hoyie L."Dick" Tacy and welcomed and loved his two sons, Dan and Doug, as if they were her own. They remained in San Antonio until their retirement. She and Dick purchased a home at Canyon Lake where they lived until his passing in 2008.

Until her death, she enjoyed her time with each of her grandchildren, and in later years, her great-grandchildren.

Rose had a passion for her pets and gardening and always had the most beautiful plants and gardens. She was also committed to and served in the choirs of the church's she was a member of as well as volunteered with the local VFW and United Methodist Women.

Rose is survived by daughters, JoAnn Nalley & husband Charles, Pam Luddeke and son, Dan Tacy and wife Tonya and one sister, Flora Gill.

Grandchildren: Janelle & Greg Weller, Garrett & Lori Paris, Julie & John Dove, Don & Erin Hogue, Jarrod & Mary Hogue, Joe & Cheri Hogue, Dyann Hogue, Justin & Holley Luddeke, Dustin Tacy, Brandon & Christina Tacy, Raymond Tacy, Stephanie Tacy.

Great-grandchildren: Madelyn Johnston, Bryce Weller, Katy Johnston, Dylan Paris, Rylee Paris, Kaylee Metheny, Tyler Metheny, Hayden Metheny, Parker Luddeke, Bailey Luddeke, Jessica & Jon Wood, Riley Hogue, Clara Hogue, Evy Hogue, Megan Hogue, Aldine Hogue, Hayden Hogue, Henley Hogue, Brody Trujillo, Felicity Trujillo.

One great-great-grandson, Malakai Wood.

Funeral Services were held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Canyon Lake - United Methodist Church.

Burial will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's memory to either Canyon Lake United Methodist Church or Hope Hospice in New Braunfels, Texas.
