Richard Arley Wiley, a devoted public servant, beloved father, and proud grandfather, passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 82 at his home in Bulverde.

Born on December 5, 1942, Richard lived a life marked by honor, dedication, and love for his family and community. He served with distinction as a police officer from 1974 until his retirement in 2003. In 1975, he became a criminal investigator, a role in which he excelled for decades. He was also a dedicated member of the Missouri City Police Department Honor Guard. He was especially proud to be a member of the honor guard at many presentations at the state capitol. He was honored to meet Governor's Ann Richards and George Bush. Richard's bravery and excellence in service earned him the "100 Club Officer of the Year" award — a reflection of the deep respect he garnered from his peers and community.

Richard was a lifetime Gold Badge Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where he proudly supported Texas traditions and community engagement. In his retirement years, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and most recently his Slingshot. He loved nature and often posted his pictures on Facebook.

Those who knew him will also remember his constant companion and loyal dog, Roxy, who brought him years of joy.

He is survived by his daughter Debra Wiley, son Danny Wiley, and two grandchildren, Abby Wiley and Dylan Wiley. His brother Jimmie Wiley and sister, Elva Nell Mauk, and many nephews and nieces all of whom he loved dearly. His legacy of strength, kindness, and integrity lives on through them.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2025, at a family's residence where friends, family, and former colleagues are welcome to gather and honor Richard's remarkable life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Richard's memory to the 100 Club, Dementia Society of America, or your local animal rescue shelter — causes that were close to his heart.
