Robert Louis Garcia, 73, of Canyon Lake, Texas was called home to be with his Lord October 22, 2022, at Canyon Lake.  He was preceded in death by his parents Crispin and Beth Garcia and his cherished daughter, Toni Adel Bridges.  Robert was born on January 21, 1949, in Alice, Texas and was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. His final years were spent in San Antonio & Canyon Lake.

Robert loved muscle cars, motorcycles, fishing and music.  He worked for years perfecting his guitar chops on the House of the Rising Sun.  Whenever he was asked to play something, it was inevitably House of the Rising Sun.  He was a gifted mechanic and from a very young age was usually found with his head under the hood of his favorite 1957 Chevy.  He was able to take apart and put together motors and engines with ease.  He had the gift for storytelling and could keep his family in stitches with his tales.  He served his country in the U.S. Army honorably.  He worked for many years on the offshore oil rigs for Weatherford Lamb.  He was the proud father of Christine, Toni, and Lorraine.  He lovingly displayed photographs of his children and grandchildren at his home and spoke often of their pursuits and accomplishments.

He is survived by his beloved daughters Christine Hernandez, Lorraine (Josh) Newton. Brothers, Louis (Betty), Joseph, David (Juanita).  Sisters, Barbara (Carlos) Austin, Cecilia, Claudine (Ralph) Cervantes and Angela (Ray) Ruiz. Grandchildren, Magan (Brian) Boatman, Miles Hernandez, Ryan Bridges, Justin Hattersley, and Kevin Hattersley. Great grandchildren Sarah Beth Boatman and Jillian Claire Boatman and numerous nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on January 20, 2023 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.  Following services, friends and family with gather at 12:00 P.M. at Casa de Caliza, 409 S. Press, San Antonio, TX 78204.
