Robert "Bo" Ochiltree, Jr.

1944-2021

It is with great sadness that the Ochiltree family announces the death of Robert "Bo" Ochiltree.  Bo passed away on April 8, 2021, in New Braunfels, Texas.  He was born in Guatemala, where his father was stationed with Pan American World Airways.  Robert grew up in Houston, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at a very young age and graduated from Milby High School.  He later received his Bachelors degree from Texas Tech.

He was drafted during the Vietnam War and was trained as a combat medic. He served as a Medic Surgical Technician at a U.S. Military Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. While in Japan, he scored very high on the Army aptitude test and was offered to continue in the Army medical field. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked as one of the Supervisors for H.A. Lott Construction. While building the "Tower of Americas" in San Antonio, he volunteered to install the light bulb at the top of the tower. He received his Masters Degree at St. Mary's University in counseling and went on to work in this field, eventually becoming an administrator of a private psychiatric hospital. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Canyon Lake, where he loved to tell anyone he met that as a child he drove the roads before it was filled in to become a lake. He was a 36 year friend of Bill W.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Donna Ochiltree; two children, a daughter, Tiffany Ochiltree of Dallas; a son, Christopher Ochiltree and wife Lydia of Dallas; three grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Andre & Anthony; a sister, Mary Shubert and husband Edward of Houston.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Ochiltree, Sr. and his mother Doris Elaine Alexander Ochiltree of Houston.

He made us proud.

A private family service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. With military honors On May 10 ^th , 2021. We regret to say that due to covid restrictions, services will be private.
