Ronald Alan Carroll, 74, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2024.  He was born April 3, 1950, to Lavoice and Clara Carroll in Abilene, Texas.

Although he spent his youth in Houston, his heart was always in the country.  He spent many happy days exploring at his grandparent's farm along the Red River.  His love of animals also gave him great pleasure, hence the many dogs, horses, chickens, a donkey, and a turkey or two!

Ron graduated from Memorial High School in Houston in 1969.  Being an adventurous soul, he traveled the country, but his favorite places were places with mountains and waterfalls.  He and his brother, Larry, would trailer their motorcycles up to Canyon Lake to enjoy the scenic route through the backbone, around the lake, and along the river.

He also enjoyed spending time at the family hunting camp in Brady.  Besides hunting quail, he enjoyed the companionship of his family.

In Houston, he and his family ran a dry cleaning business.  He also became involved with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where he became part of the Wild West Committee and the Parade Committee. He served as Vice-Chairman of the Livestock Committee.

After leaving the cleaning business, Ron began working in commercial construction as a supervisor. However, he wanted his children to experience life in the country, so in 1997, he moved his family to the Hill Country and started Circle C Construction Company.

In 1999, he was coerced by friends to attend his 30th high school reunion.  There he met Cynthia, who had also been coerced into attending. Fast forward a year later to July 8, 2000, when they became man and wife.

Ron continued to work in construction and fencing until he retired.

Ron had many interests, but his most prized interest was his daughters.  No matter how far away Ashley's softball games were, you would always see him in the stands, cheering her on.  He was always supportive of Kaylea in whatever endeavor she was involved in.  He was the best dad and will always be there in spirit.

Having a close proximity to the lake made boating highly enjoyable.  He was able to indulge this and spent many days puttering around in his boats and was a member of the Yacht Club.

Ron, being a Texan through and through, was also a BBQ master.  Everyone said his BBQ was the best.  He also enjoyed football games, General Hospital, and really old westerns.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Lavoice and Clara Carroll.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cynthia Carroll, daughter, Ashley Carroll-Schreck, and partner James Cortez, daughter, Kaylea Carroll, step-daughter, Jennifer Gibson and husband Derek, step-son, Andrew Stell and wife Dede; grandchildren, Kendell and partner Shelby, Conley, Jason John, Jacob, Payden, Maverick, Stormi, Dylan, Brookelyn, Savannah, brother, Larry Carroll, sister Kelly Gupta, brother-in-law, Ward Critz and wife Sue, sister-in-law, Jane Beyer, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home at Canyon Lake in Sattler, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the CRRC in Canyon Lake would be appreciated.
