Rose Marie Garrison was born as the third child of seven to Anthony & Marie (Winkler) Schuckenbrock in Lasara, Texas on October 7, 1929. She passed from this life peacefully in her home on February 2, 2022, in Bulverde, Texas at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles W. Garrison in 1989, her son, Glenn Garrison, her brothers James Schuckenbrock and wife Helen, Fr. Harry Schuckenbrock, Dan Schuckenbrock, and brother-in-law Benny Albers, her sister, Caroline Macmanus, her husband's parents, Clyde and Texas Jennette (Griggs) Garrison, in-laws Thelma (Garrison) Horgan and husband George, Barbara Garrison, and Joe Bako.
She is survived by her children, Charlene Hubertus and Harvey, Mike Garrison and Dede (Raycraft), Clyde Garrison and Karen (Abel), Greg Garrison and Cindy (Jones), Patsy Gottardy and Brian, Kathleen Vasquez and Baldemar (Junior), Darlene Thompson and Jon, Sherry Michalec and John, Rodney Garrison and Suzanne (Hathaway), her sisters Isabel Albers, Rita Dunlap and husband Jim, and in-laws Jerry Macmanus (Caroline) and Audrey Lentz (Dan). She is also survived by her husband's brothers, Clyde Garrison, Gary Garrison and wife Heather, and his sisters, Jayne Bako, Mary Davis and husband Don, and Kay Bowles.
She was "Grandma Rosie" to 32 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, additional relatives, and dear friends.
Rose graduated high school from Raymondville High, then received her Bachelor's Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. While in San Antonio, she met the love of her life, Charles (Charlie) and they were married on April 24, 1954. They moved to Bulverde in May 1964. Rose was a devoted mother and Catholic. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph's Honey Creek since 1964 and was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters and the Alter Society. She also worked with Bereavement Meals, and attended Adoration Hour on Tuesdays.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM when a Rosary will be Recited at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Honey Creek, 25781 Highway 46 W., Spring Branch, Texas 78070.
A Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM also at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Honey Creek followed by a burial at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's name to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 25781 State Highway 46 W, Spring Branch, TX 78070 and/or the Oblate Missions of San Antonio, 323 Oblate Drive, P.O. Box 659432, San Antonio, TX 78265-9432
