Ruth Lorene Mims, 92 years of age, transitioned on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her residence.  Ruth was born December 15, 1928 in Lenox, Georgia to the late Eddie and Burie (Huff) Cohen.  She was the youngest girl of thirteen children, all preceded her in transition.  Ruth's mother transitioned when she was three years old and was raised by her grandmother, Annie (Butler) Cohen.

Ruth married the late John Benjamin Mims in Valdosta, Georgia in 1946 and six children were born from this union.  Mr. Mims, jr., Eugene Mims and Lorenzo Mims who preceded her in transition.

She is survived by her children, Roslyn Mims – Lewis, Jerry Marvin and Annette (Abidh) Mims and Arthur Lee and Lisa (Bahrl) Mims, and a host of grandchildren, great grands, great-great grands, spiritual children, relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home of Canyon Lake in Sattler, Texas.  Burial will follow at Cranes Mil Cemetery in Canyon Lake.
