Ruth Anne O'Brien was born March 2, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia to Terry and Georgia Samples. She died peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Texas.

Previously she married Stanley Sheffield and had three daughters.  She was married to Thomas O'Brien for the last 41 years and loved his children as her own.

Anne was a member of The Crossing Church of the Nazarene, Houston for many years.  She enjoyed her many friends from church, having regular lunch dates with them.

She is survived by her husband Tom O'Brien, daughters Renee Uschold (Steve), Tammy Mayfield (Jeff deceased) Melanie Reynolds (Mickey) three stepchildren Erin O'Brien (JaLynn), Kerry O'Brien, and Shauna Douglass(Sy) ; 21  grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren who provide a long legacy of her life.

The family will honor her memory with family gatherings in Texas and Ohio as well as a special memorial time at The Crossing Church of the Nazarene Church in Houston on June 28 during regular Sunday service.
