Shirley L. Holland, 81, a devout Christian from New Braunfels, Texas, returned to God surrounded by her family at Eden Hills on August 3, 2024.

She was born in New Braunfels, Texas in 1943 to George and Katie (Greenwood) Holland and was a bright child with a wonderful smile. Shirley graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1961 and started her career at USAA where she worked for 35 years before retiring.

She was a devoted Christian who cherished her bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Live Oak Baptist Church of New Braunfels, Texas until her passing.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother and father Katie and George, her brother Milton, her sisters Ruby, Doris, and Georgia, and her nephew Kory Hudgins, who she will meet again in Heaven. She is survived by her sisters, Thelma Davis, Lethia McClinton (JT), Helen Darnell (Jerry), Sara Hudgins (Rufus), and her brother Fred Holland, her six nephews Dave McClinton, Steven Darnell, Rande Darnell (Roberta), Kevin Hudgins (Allen), Rodney Holland (Bridget), Quinton Holland (Christine),her two nieces Katii McKinney (Anthony), Kimberly Wade (Robert), seven great nieces, eight great nephews, three great-great nieces, and one great-great nephew and numerous other relatives and friends who knew Shirley.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2023, at Live Oak Baptist Church in New Braunfels with Pastor Alvie Young, Sr. officiating. The viewing will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service. The burial will follow at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels, Texas.
