Our beloved mother, Sondra (Jones) Green, passed away after battling a short term illness on January 11, 2024, in New Braunfels, TX, at the age of 85.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman, in 2014.  She is survived by; four children, Charlotte (Green) Dodson; Janice Green; Scott Green; Shari (Green) Nesser and grandchildren/great grandchildren as well as many other family members.

Sondra was a devoted, loving wife, married to her husband Norman for over 58 years. They met in high school band class, in Canton, OH, where Sondra was a majorette for the marching band as well as played the clarinet. She was a lifeguard during summers. While living in Virginia, Sondra and Norman enjoyed taking scenic motorcycle rides together over the years, sailing and gardening/landscaping. She had many talents and interests some of which included, watercolor/acrylic painting, pottery, floral arranging, gardening and genealogy research.

Her four children adored her. She was such a supportive, guiding light in our lives. We will greatly miss her and have been very fortunate to have her as our loving mother.

She always encouraged others to be kind, thoughtful and strong. She was selfless in her actions and always put others first. She was an amazing soul and brought so much brightness into this world.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

As we bid farewell to Sondra, we find solace in the memories we shared and the love she leaves behind. In honoring her memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a woman well-loved.

Cremation services will be coordinated with Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the American Heart Association.
