Sonja Krohn passed away on November 17, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving daughter, Krista Krohn and her two devoted dogs, Luna & Beaux. She was 84.

Krista is currently striving to come to terms with the loss, as her mother was her pillar of strength, closest confidante, and most ardent supporter throughout the past 54 years.

Being of strong Christian beliefs, Sonja did say the first person she wanted to meet when she crossed over was Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry Krohn; her son, Kyle Krohn, and her sister, LaJuana Meyer Chitty.

She is survived by her daughter, Krista Krohn of Spring Branch; half-sister, Janell Marcy of Austin and stepdaughter, Cindy Watkins of Houston; grandchildren, Keegan Krohn Conran, Kyle Krohn, Jr., Ashley Krohn, and Bridget Krohn; nephew, Larry Glasgow, and great-grandsons, Barrett Krohn of spring Branch and Corbin Cavazos of Houston.

Sonja was an Elementary School teacher in Comal County for about 20 years and another 16 years in Pasadena (Houston). She leaves a legacy of 36 years of teaching 1st & 2nd graders to read & write. Sonja had a way of teaching the "unteachable."  "Put them in Mrs. Krohn's class, they'll learn to read" was the belief among the masses that knew her talent!

Also, she volunteered for 13 years at the Canyon Lake Habitat for Safe Seniors Thrift Store up until the week before she passed. Sonja loved socializing with her many friends and having a purpose which she found there!

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church.
