Obituary

Terry Lee Brunett, 64, of New Braunfels, Texas was welcomed at the heavenly gates on August 27, 2021 in New Braunfels.  He was born on November 19, 1956 to Larry Eugene Sr. and Geraldine (Riley) Brunet in Orange, Texas.

Terry, aka Pop, was raised in Orange, Texas and was a graduate of West Orange High School, class of 1975.  He married Gina Tomlinson Brunett on March 29, 1977.  They raised their children in Vidor, Texas and were residents there for 42 years.  He was employed for 40 years at Gulf Oil/Chevron Phillips in Orange, Texas and retired as a shift supervisor.  They moved soon after to New Braunfels to be closer to their children and grandchildren so they could play a more active role in their lives. He loved to cook both at work and at home.  He was most well known for his gumbo and famous potato salad made from scratch.  He was self taught at repairing nearly anything, and was a trusted friend who could be depended on for good advice.  His greatest joys were his loving wife of 44 years, his children, grandchildren, and his miniature schnauzer, his pupper girl, Bella.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.  He had a servant's heart and would help anyone he saw in need.  He had a bright smile and a quick wit, loving to make others smile, too. He was not a man of very many words, but he knew how to use just enough to make those he loved feel like a million bucks.  He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Eugene Brunet, Jr., and his mother Geraldine Riley.

He is survived by his wife Gina (Tomlinson) Brunett, son,Terry  Lance Brunett and wife Melissa, daughter, Trisha LaNay Horn and husband Andy, grandchildren; Lauren Elizabeth Brunett, Ethan Andrew Horn, Layla Madison Brunett, and Addison Claire Horn, his father Larry Brunet Sr,  and sisters Mary Celeste Brunett and Jana Beth Bussinger.

A service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 4, at Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels with Pastor Ray Still officiating.  Burial will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens in New Braunfels.
