Timothy Allen Wilkins, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 due to complications following a car accident. That night, Jupiter was in full visibility in the Hill Country sky under which Tim, as we called him, resided. A big planet for a big guy lighting the way to heaven.

Tim was born on July 24, 1954 to Ronald Wilkins and Gloria Paulk in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A renaissance man, Tim held three careers and many odd jobs in his lifetime. In all his professions—from bartending to restaurant and hotel management to working in IT to serving as a professor at two universities—Tim had a brilliant touch with people. He was interested in the stories other people carried and, as a manager, teacher, and friend, knew how to find and polish the exceptional qualities. He was good at seeing the best in his colleagues, friends, and family. Tim left our earth on National Margarita Day—he would have loved that. He loved making sure everyone was having a good time.

Tim was survived by many lucky to have known him including his wife, Nancy Wilkins and their two children, Jeff Wilkins (40) and Jenny Long (44). Tim and Nancy had just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Nancy and Timothy (as she prefers to call him) traveled the world together, living everywhere from the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina to the hot white sands of Dubai to the crystal blue waters of Hawaii.

Tim loved to see the world, but he also loved home. Most recently, Tim and Nancy had set up for retirement in a lovely new house tucked into the hills of central Texas. Tim loved cruising along the Devil's Backbone and enjoying the huge Texas sunrises from the comfort of his porch—not infrequently with a dog or two on his lap.

Tim made great cocktails and he told even greater stories. He liked to share all he had and loved. The world is a little darker without him in it.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Gloria, and his sister, Susan Newell. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children Jeff and Jenny, and his grandchildren: Cody Camp, Cooper Camp, Cailin Wilkins, Chase Wilkins, Avery Wilkins, and Mallory Long.

Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in San Marcos on Friday, March 3rd at 2:00pm. Suggested attire is Hawaiian print—Tim loved his Aloha shirts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research. Tim was a cancer survivor and had been in remission since 2005.
