Ty Hurt, 84, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on January 31 st , 2022.

Ty was born to the late William and Hope Hurt in Kansas City, Kansas on February 16, 1937. After serving in the Navy, he worked at a beauty shop and school where he would say God dropped an angel into his life in the form of his wife, Jane Hurt. Together, Ty and Jane later built a successful career in the Amway business which afforded them amazing travels and lots of time with their children.

Ty and Jane raised their five children with lots of love, strong faith and extreme positivity, Ty often reminding his children "if the Hurts can't do it, it can't be done."

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joyce Reedy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane Hurt, and their children Tana Hurt, Ty Hurt II and wife Robin Hurt, Tiffany Blue and husband Johnny Blue, Torry Hurt, Tristin Burell and husband Dustin Burell. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Brent Foerster, Dalton Scannell, Skyler Olson, Kendall Hurt, Preslie Olson, Bailie Olson, Ty Hurt III, Logan Hurt, Hudson and Brenley Burell and two great grandchildren, Gavin and Bentley Scannell.

His lively story-telling and kind acceptance of everyone were some of his most endearing qualities and he'll be greatly missed by his many loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to services.  Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Hill Country Memorial Gardens in New Braunfels.
