Vernon (Bud) Leroy Gray Jr., of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, surrounded by his family. Bud was born on February 12, 1943 in Paris, Texas to Vernon and Virginia Gray.

Bud retired in 2000 from City Public Service after 36 years of service and from the Army Reserves in 2 003 .

Bud was married to the love of his life, Michelle, in 1966, who survives him. He is also survived by Trey Gray and wife Laurie, Robyn Steffen and husband Keith, grandchildren Colton Gray and wife Ashley, Savannah Gray and fiancé Tyler Herbert, Ella Steffen, Laine Collenback and Cade Collenback.

Anyone that knew Bud knew he never met a stranger and always had a story. He loved to travel, play golf, and attend any event his grandchildren were a part of.

The funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:30am with a mass to follow at 10:00am. Interment will follow the mass at 1:00pm at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery.
