Obituary

William S. "Bill" Griggs passed peacefully from this world into the loving arms of his Higher Power, God the Father, on June 20, 2026. Bill fought a prolonged and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bill was born on October 25, 1971, to Jeanette and Clarence Griggs. He was raised in Belton, Texas, where he made lifelong friendships. Bill graduated from Belton high school. He later earned a bachelors in political science from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in 1996. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.

Throughout his life, Bill built lasting friendships through school, work and the many lives he touched. Bill was quick witted, had a generous spirit, and wasn't afraid of hard work. He was open hearted, and unafraid to tell his friends he loved them.

Bill loved spending time on the water, fishing, skiing, boating. He was known for his invitations to Lake Travis, Lake Austin, Lake Belton, Canyon Lake, Port Aransas. He always believed in "the more, the merrier."

Bill is survived by his wife, Beth Delaney Griggs, and her sons John and Luke, of new Braunfels; his father Clarence and wife, Jane, of Austin; his mother, Jeanette Schigut and husband Dale, of Morgan's point; his brother, CV and wife Priscilla of Rodgers; his nephew, Michael Griggs and wife Faith and his great nephew, Weston Griggs. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, CV and Catherine Griggs and Otto and Nelda Sanford.

Bill and his joyful spirit will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.
