Larry Edward King, born December 16, 1951, passed away February 15, 2026.

Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Tyler Walker; his cherished grandchildren, Navi and Wren Walker; and his step-grandchildren, Gage and Rheese Walker.

Larry retired as a Senior Laboratory Technician from New Braunfels Utilities after 33 dedicated years working in the water lab. Even in retirement, he remained closely connected to his former coworkers through the Texas Water Utilities Association Armadillo Chapter, faithfully attending meetings and events with friends who had become family over the years.

He was an active member of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group since September 2006, Cowboy Chapter of South Austin, and proudly served as a road captain for many years. Though he later stepped down as his strength declined and his beloved dogs became his focus, the friendships and memories from his riding days stayed close to his heart.  He enjoyed manning the hotdog station when they had events there.

Larry stayed in touch with cousins and lifelong high school friends in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, valuing those enduring connections. In his neighborhood, he was a familiar and friendly presence, often sitting on his front porch with his dogs, watching squirrels, lizards, and birds while chatting with neighbors. Helen Saxon and her lifelong partner, Stephen Whitis, his next-door neighbors of four years, became dear friends — and their dogs formed their own friendship as well.

His two dogs, Buddy and Luna, were his "children" and brought him immense joy and comfort. He formed a special bond with their groomer, Terra Browder, following her from PetSmart to Urban Mutt because he and his dogs trusted and adored her. That loyalty was simply who Larry was — genuine, steadfast, and kind.

A creature of habit, Larry frequented his favorite local spot, Avery's Kitchen, several times a week where he was always welcomed as a regular.

Weekends were often spent with his best friend of fifty years, Don Duan. Together they enjoyed gun shows, home and garden shows, bookstores, live music, restaurants, and community festivals — sharing a friendship that spanned decades.

Larry loved visiting his daughter and her family, making frequent trips to spend quality time together. He proudly supported Navi's band, Burnadine, attending performances in San Marcos and Austin whenever he could. He delighted in buying thoughtful gifts for Navi and Wren, always encouraging their interests and celebrating their accomplishments.  He was also an avid collector of numerous things.

Larry was a good man with a good heart, who never met a stranger. You couldn't help but be his friend and accept him for exactly who he was. His kindness, loyalty, and steady presence will be forever missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Altwein Family Farm House, 4821 FM 725, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Sandwiches and finger foods will be served. All who knew and loved Larry are invited to come share stories as we honor and remember him.
