Linda Martin Cofield of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2026, in New Braunfels, TX surrounded by her loving family.  She was 79 years old.

She was born Linda Elaine Martin on March 21st, 1946 at The Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, TX to Ralph Lowell Martin and Juanita Ruth Martin.  Linda attended Menger Elementary and Hamlin Middle School before graduating from W.B. Ray High School in 1964, with most summers spent at her grandparents' farm in Indiana.  After graduation, she went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin.

After college, while living in Corpus Christi, TX, she married Navy veteran James Malcom Williams in 1977.  The two shared a happy and loving marriage until James's passing in 2003.  They welcomed their only child, Garrett Thompson Williams, in 1979.  Linda worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 20 years before retiring and moving to San Antonio.  In 2014, she married Lt. Col. Ralph E. Cofield of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX.  The couple shared a brief, but happy marriage before his passing in 2020.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Juanita Martin, her first husband, James Williams, and her second husband, Ralph Cofield.

Linda is survived by her son, Garrett Williams (Tricia); her siblings, Steve Martin (Wendy), Christine Kaspar (Jimmy), and Laurie Hill (James); Ten nieces and nephews in Texas and Virginia, as well as their children, whom she doted on and adored, and many lifelong friends.

Linda had a keen eye for art, interior design, architecture, gardening, and fashion.  She loved and collected antiques and handmade trinkets gathered during her travels.  She was a cancer survivor who had a sparkling personality, a wonderful sense of humor, with a kind and generous nature through her entire life.  Linda was the heart of our family.  She was the person we all leaned on in hard times, offering sage council and motivation.  She was also our biggest champion in good times, cheering the loudest and always proud.  She truly loved us more.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, friend, and Gigi.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to one of her favorite charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Doctors Without Borders, HunterSeven Foundation, or your local Botanical Garden.

A celebration of Linda's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, in the chapel at Oakwood Baptist Church located at 2154 Loop 337, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
