Mary Linda Parris, most commonly called Lovey by her late husband Wynn Parris, was born to Rose Nowell on July 6, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. Mary passed peacefully on February 24, 2026, 11 months after her husband passed, in New Braunfels, Texas. It was too much to bear to be without him. She has gone on to join her husband and their eternal love will live on forever.
Mary was an amazing senior English teacher for over 25 years. She made learning fun and engaging especially when it came to the time of the year to teach the Canterbury Tales. When she retired from teaching, she opened her own wedding planner business, Rice to Ribbons. She took great joy in taking care of brides on their special day. When she finally decided to really retire, she enjoyed going out to lunch with her husband at all their favorite spots, Willie's, Pat's Place, Sea Island and Herbert's.
Mary is survived by her only child, Lisa Carolyn Jones and Lisa's husband, Phillip Burton Jones; her grandchildren, Chelsea Rose Frisbie and Dallas Cole Frisbie; and her beloved dog, Bo Parris.
A funeral service will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral home in New Braunfels, Texas on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at noon. The burial will be attended by immediate family only.
